After the release of his debut album, ‘Golden’, 14-year-old Malakai Bayoh proved he possessed a golden voice. His album currently occupies the number one spot on the Official Classical Artist Chart. Official Classical Artist Albums Chart | Official Charts

Based on weekly album sales of digital bundles, CDs, vinyl, and other formats in the UK, the Official Charts Company compiles the Official Classical Artist Albums Chart to rank the week's top Classical artist albums in the country.

‘Islands’, by the 68-year-old Italian pianist and composer Ludovico Einaudi, comes in at #2. Films and TV shows that feature scores composed by Einaudi include This Is England, I’m Still Here, and The Intouchables. The Oscar and Golden Globe winners Nomad Land and The Father both featured his music on their soundtracks.

‘Sleep’ by British-German pianist and composer Max Richter comes in at #3. Richter combines post-minimalist and classical influences in his work. Ari Folman's animated war film, Waltz with Bashir (2008), uses some of his music.

Malakai is a student at The Cardinal Vaughan Memorial School and an esteemed member of the legendary Choir of St. George's Cathedral in Southwark. He was born in Britain to parents who emigrated from Sierra Leone. He blew away the British audience in 2023 when he performed ‘Pie Jesu’ by Andrew Lloyd Webber on Britain's Got Talent without a hitch.
